Eid al-Adha is celebrated to commemorate Ibrahim’s (Abraham) willingness to sacrifice his son to God. However, God put a sheep on his place.
This celebration is then well-known as the festival of sacrifice. Muslims all over the world are encouraged to slaughter some animals like cow, sheep or goat, and distribute the meat to family, neighbours, friends, and poor people on that day, as the honor of Ibrahim’s complete obedience to the will of God.
This day also marks the end of the Hajj of pilgrimage to Mecca.
On this coming special day, I would like to wish you all a happy Eid Adha. Hopefully we all can take lesson of the sacrifice of prophet Ibrahim as. May Allah forgiveness our sins and give all of us prosperity and happiness in our lives.
